Student-initiated in-depth design or media-related work to enhance and focus the portfolio on target areas. A written project proposal, references, relevant student design samples, and production schedule are required to help define goals and benchmarks.

Define their goals for the semester.

Make and keep a regular meeting schedule with the faculty member.

Explore topics and gather research that is relevant to their work.

Experiment and work with materials and processes as they relate to the work.

Seek feedback and insight from the faculty member concerning work in progress, ideas for new projects, and professional development.

Consult and communicate regularly with clients on inter-departmental projects, if applicable.
